Displays at the Delaware State Fair

One of the first things we did in Delaware, after adjusting to the time change and doing a little back-to-school shopping, was head to the Delaware State Fair. Mom had entered several quits, cross-stitching, photos and cards, and we wanted to see how she faired.

Second Premium on her colorful Christmas quilted wall hanging.

Third Premium on Benjamin’s Christmas stocking.

Second Premium on her red and blue lap quilt.

Fourth Premium on MacKenzie’s Christmas stocking.

Second Premium on her pieced quilt, quilted on longarm. I’d say she faired pretty well for her first time entering quilts! None of her photos or cards placed, but it was still interesting to see all the entries by talented people!

Figured we’d take this hot ticket home.

The second objective was to get snacks. We visited too early in the morning to ride the rides (they weren’t open yet, and it was already too hot to stay too long). Benjamin chose cotton candy.

MacKenzie chose a funnel cake (that she shared with me). Zachary had a difficult time choosing between root beer and ice cream. He was hoping he could get both so he could make his own root beer float. When we found a booth selling root beer floats, his bluff was up...and he settled for a root beer.
