New Cousins
One of dad’s cousins (and her husband) recently moved from New Jersey to Delaware, and as a result gets to see Mom and Dad quite regularly. I think they all enjoy having family close by. When we first arrived in Delaware, their granddaughters were staying with them. Since they’re each very close in age to my kids, it made sense to get them together to meet and play. They had to play a game of Monopoly to break the ice before supper, but after supper they got along as if they’d known each other their entire lives! Benjamin taught Katie, Meghan and MacKenzie how to do a “chain promise.”
Benjamin and Mackenzie have such similar personalities -- must be something about being the third child with a nearly 5-year gap between you and your closest sibling.
Here’s the gang: MacKenzie and Meghan (who both commiserated that their parents won’t let them have Facebook accounts until they’re 13), Katie and Zachary (Katie said she felt short standing beside Zachary), and Mackenzie and Benjamin (don’t they look like they could get into mischief together!?!!).
