Gradual update #33 -- Girl Scout Sunday
The Girl Scouts have a special “Girl Scout Sunday” each spring to recognize its scouts. MacKenzie helped by handing out programs and hymnals to worshippers as they entered the chapel, and did a wonderful job. Usually, the girls would be recognized during the service for their completing their religious achievements, but we got a late start with MacKenzie’s “God and Me” award, so she and the other girls instead were asked to stand up to signify that they were working on the achievements.
By June, she had completed the requirements for her award, and she received the medal to wear on her Brownie uniform.
